“Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form he humbled himself and became obedient unto death, even death on a cross.
God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” Philippians 2:5-11 (RSV) Emphasis and asterisk added.
“Therefore” carries powerful meaning in Scripture:
Because of…
As a result of…
Consequently…
“Therefores” abound in life, preceding our choices.
Choices cause results.
Results change our circumstances.
Circumstances affect Others and True Self.
Consider an ultimate “Therefore.”
Much like the “therefore” that appears at the end of Jesus’ human life, our “therefores”
precede our choices.
Although many believe that a person’s good choices during life precede reward in heaven, it’s just not that simple.
It’s actually simpler.
No matter the choices we’ve made in the past, God’s grace and forgiveness can be
extended when we simply turn to Him and ask… with a spirit of humility and seeking.
God sees the posture of the heart and everything can change in a moment.
That’s the simplicity and power of grace! Grace is not free, but the price has already been paid.
Therefore, we can have connection, and peace with God.
How would connection and peace with God change your circumstances?
What about for those around you?
